Chinese New Year in Manchester is a spectacular celebration marked with a glittering array of exciting events for the whole family to enjoy. This year marks the start of the Year of the Rabbit and the traditional Chinese celebrations to welcome in a New Year will take place on Sunday 6th February in Chinatown and Manchester Town Hall in Albert Square. The celebrations start at 11am and will last throughout the day until 7pm. At 6pm, there will be a massive fireworks display, so make sure you bring the kids along! Standing in the centre of Chinatown is a large 45ft tall Chinese Arch adorned with Dragons and Phoenixes.
